It’s CULTED with your 60-second FASHION BLAST.
Louis Vuitton is the latest luxury brand to go seasonless and reshape its internal fashion calendar. From now on, it will host shows in multiple locations, not just Paris. The new show routine, which involves travelling from place to place, starts on 6 August in Shanghai.
On top of this, instead of showing its upcoming menswear collection in Paris, the brand has opted to debut the collection via a short film, mixing live action with cartoon characters.
The spring 21 collection is called ‘Message in a bottle” and will see new sustainability initiatives introduced, including recycling and upcycling work, as well as reissuing pieces.
Virgil Abloh told WWD: “this next show is probably the biggest leap that I’ve made in terms of proposing a new system, how it lives and operates.” He went on to tell WWD’s Joelle Diderich: “it’s probably the most fully packaged from the clothes itself and the craftsmanship, to the things you’ll see with the films and how it activates.”
