The UK may be forecasting a mini-heatwave, but Ibiza’s where the heart is. At least according to Loewe – who’s new Paula’s Ibiza collection recalls the sun, glitter and hedonism of the famed Balearic island. Inspired by the “endless party destination”, hedonistic visions creep into the collection in the form of sequins, short hems and cut outs.
Graphics are bright and surround surfing, while cactus motifs and playful geometries line bags and apparel. The collection itself consists of dresses, tees, shorts, bags, pullovers and even a new scent. Materials encompass silk and the aforementioned sequins, creating the impression of clothes that are made to be worn in the sun. In the denim department, LOEWE opts for a ‘slightly worn’ aesthetic, which also lends itself to being described as sun bleached, and the brand debuts a new crochet artisanal fabric which was crafted in Japan.

Offsetting the busy hedonism are a select few crisp white peces, and the whole collection is unisex. There’s a sense that the collection is made to be picked up and thrown on – for the beach, the club, or a sunset dinner. Accessories carry the same vibrancy – sequinned platform miles sit alongside traditionally Spanish espadrilles, and an ombré sunset colourway adorns new styles of bag. However, woven straw takes centre stage for this collection’s accessories, which makes perfect sense given its context and inspiration.
For the accompanying campaign, LOEWE tapped Gray Sorrenti, who brings her signature playful eye to the imagery. Here, we see the clothes as they were intended to be seen: in motion, in party, and most probably, in Vogue.
