Awake NY has teamed up with Lacoste to create a unisex 12-piece collection, designed for the streets of Paris and New York City’s five boroughs.
Composed mainly of deep greens, blues, reds and cream, the classic collection is inspired by French sport, but reinterpreted by Awake NY for the bustling streets of Manhattan. From classic tees to 90s inspired suits, this collection blends form and function.
Baque dove into the Lacoste archives when designing the collection, handpicking pieces from the brand’s history that were then updated for its Awake NY collaboration. “Partnering with Lacoste gave us the opportunity to do something unexpected,” Baque said. “Their preppy aesthetic is very different from our own. Accessing the archives and immersing myself in Lacoste’s heritage really inspired us to create something that’s both versatile and functional. Any two pieces from the collection can be paired together.”

Louise Trotter, Lacoste’s artistic director, weighed in too – “Lacoste’s collaborations are an opportunity to bring together creative worlds that are seemingly opposed to each other. It’s about co-creating, pushing the limits, reinventing Lacoste ad infinitum. This is the very essence of cultural dialogue; from two different languages, we create a third”.
Shop the collection on their website from 26 Jan.
