Massive bags, mega clothes and a brand new adidas collaboration were all ticked off at Labrum London’s Fall/Winter 2024 collection. Since winning the prestigious Queen Elizabeth II award for British design, Labrum has gone from strength to strength, reaching stand-out show status with an athletic speed.

A sure sign of the brand’s quick-moving scale is its show venues, expanding from Brixton Village for FW23 to Tate Britain for FW24’s “Journey of Colours,” where models manoeuvred between impressive collections of rare artefacts, only adding to the grandeur of the display.

First looks saw light brown coloured suiting where jackets were finished with travel document piping which crossed the torso of its wearer, beginning at the lapels and ending at the waist, with a corresponding pattern on the trousers. Passports also featured on silk-like one-piece gowns, double-breasted button-up shirts and a navy-coloured overcoat. Next up, we were treated to vibrant green patterned jackets, with the hue extended across traditional styles and cropped military jackets.

The spirit of travel was extended into a rag-tag jacket and trouser pairing, where multicoloured plane tickets were blown and stitched together, further adding to “The Journey of Colours” that unfolded before us. This was further seen in a later statement look which saw an XXXL box-like backpack draped in a multination flag.

No journey would be complete without luggage, and for Labrum Fall/winter 2024, there was lots of it. Roomy leather shoulder bags arrived in black and brown, and straw-filled baskets were carried on wearers’ heads. The above-the-shoulder action continued when a textured collaborative adidas carryall was carried overhead, complimenting a suit finished with the same texture, finished with colourful badge-like buttons, injecting a souvenir-like feeling into the collection. On foot, models continued the Three Stripes collaboration with a sleek black Samba.

Labrum Fall/Winter 2024 continued to push its worldwide message, with a thought-provoking exploration of travel. This season we saw the brand continue to grow both in terms of its show space and ongoing adidas collaboration.
