Are Kylie Jenner and Jeffree Star ‘Vegan Washing’?

I’m going to say vegan a lot… apologies in advance.
Vegan and cruelty-free cosmetics are taking over the beauty industry, but do the people behind these brands really care about animal welfare?
A huge amount of us will now only shop vegan and cruelty-free, which is pushing more and more brands to pursue vegan production methods.
Jeffree Star and Kylie Jenner have been pretty vocal about running cruelty-free brands. While their products are cruelty-free and vegan, your money may be going back into non-vegan industries.
Jeffree Star has recently come under fire for wearing real mink fur coats while promoting his vegan makeup line. In a YouTube video launching his Blue Blood palette, Jeffree said: “This product, just like everything else in my brand, is vegan, everything is cruelty-free”. So if Jeffree Star Cosmetics prides itself on being vegan and cruelty-free, why is the brand’s founder walking around in Mink clothing?
Kylie Jenner is another brand ambassador that continually posts pics wearing fur clothing. She was recently branded a hypocrite for showing off a pair of mink fur slippers just moments after posting about the death of animals in the Australian bush-fires.
What do you think? Are these brand owners ‘vegan-washing’?
