We’ve been waiting for this one, Friday at last! And because it’s the end of the week, we’ve compiled all the news you might have missed this week – don’t worry, we know you’re busy. In today’s Friday Roundup, the Institute of Digital Fashion turns Barbie into a queer London club rat while Vans is doing the most in terms of collaborations, one with JJJJound and another with Mikey February.
This Barbie goes clubbing digitally
The Institute of Digital Fashion have given Barbie a latex, gender non-conforming makeover, celebrating the queer nightlife of London. Since Greta Gerwig said that Barbie lives in the real world, IoDF said bet and put Barbie at the centre of a PxssyPalace event. Speaking of the project, IoDF co-founder and creative director Catty Tay said “We’re honouring the clubs and the subcultures, bringing them into this iconic Barbie narrative to further show how digital representation and experimentation can be a force to push for diversity and inclusion”.

Vans & JJJJound are giving clean, sleek style
For the third time this month, Vans and JJJJound are dropping another collaboration, this time giving us an all white-and-cream look inspired by French court footwear. The collab centres around three fan-favourite models: the Authentix VLT LX, the Classic Slip-On VLT LX and the Sk8-Mid. Each pair is now available on JJJJound’s website and will receive a wider release on Vans’ website on July 28.

Kelvin Krash is dropping his first album
Taking to Instagram to announce the news, the London-based producer Kelvin Krash is releasing his own music with an album titled HARSH. The whole thing is set to release on September 29.

Simple x Garbstore are collabing on the OS sneaker
This collab is taking us back to the 90s. The decade that the Californian footwear brand Simple launched and when the OS sneaker became a staple in the skateboarding scene, the Garbstore remake of the shoe is both a nostalgic and modern take. The shoe, which will be dropping online on July 27, uses the shades from the brand’s vintage product zines and catalogues and features an embossed logo, going from a skating to an everyday wear piece.

The Ice Cream Project is back
Ketchup ice cream anyone? What about a scoop of soy sauce ice cream? Warburtons crumpets? There’s only one place where you could get such wack flavoured ice cream. The Ice Cream Project by Anya Hindmarch is back in London, found at the heart of Chelsea in The Village Hall, open now until August 27.

Travis Scott just released his song with The Weeknd & Bad Bunny
We are a week away from Utopia dropping, and Travis Scott just gave us a taste of what to expect. His latest single K-POP featuring The Weeknd and Bad Bunny comes three years after the rapper’s last album ASTROWORLD. We haven’t heard any other names as features on the upcoming album but considering its Trav, we’re sure to see some more big names on the track list.

You might not be travelling this summer, but your Rimowa suitcase sure is. In a new campaign by the German luggage company shot by Arianna Lago titled “New Horizons”, several Rimowa suitcases like the Original and the Essential Cabin are captured travelling all over California, from Palm Springs to the desert.

Marni releases some pretty chunky sneakers
If you thought the reign of the chunky show was over, think again. Marni just brought out its Big Foot 2.0 and as far as big shoes go, it’s up there. Made out of Nappa leather, the cartoonish shoes are set to hit the stores this September, just in time for the back to uni fit pics.
