Jean-Paul Gaultier Finale.
Music by: Simons Sizer Ares.
Its CULTED with your 60-second FASHION BLAST.
Yesterday it was Jean-Paul Gaultier’s 50th anniversary and final Haute Couture show – it was incredible
The show was camp and kinky – in typical Gaultier style.
At the beginning of the event, Gaultier said the runway looks were his “first upcycling haute couture collection” and urged the audience to recycle their clothes.
He said “goodbye to the spanking new, hello to the spanking old!”
Gaultier took us on a magical journey through a timeline of his entire career.
We saw iconic archive pieces, like the classic corset and his signature sailor look.
Our favourite from the night has to be the head to toe dogtooth – a tribute to Leigh Bowery?
He paid great homage to 90’s runways- with playful walks and the music – everyone had their moment.
It was a beautiful hybrid of tailoring, lingerie, crystals and latex.
Dita Von Tees, Pandemonia and Karlie Kloss were just a few of the many icons serving us fierce walks.
The show closed with an emotional performance from Boy George – which brought tears to everyone’s eyes.
It was truly the end of an era.
