We’re head over heels for J.L-A.L FW23

For its FW23 campaign “Cascade,” J.L-A.L tapped daredevil content creator and all-around superhuman Mr. Polianskii to showcase its latest line of technical menswear. For its newest lookbook, the Jean Luc Ambridge Lavelle-led label headed to Tokyo to put its clothes to the test in a face-down, feet-up display.

We see a textured, tailored two-piece contrast jet black with a red-tinted brown, worn by a dishevelled Polianskii who is lying on the floor. The playful shots disrupt the urban monotony, with the stuntman turned content creator modelling garments in everyday nondescript settings. Pieces from J.L-A.L’s latest collection, which includes the brand’s Dart Pants, Cropped Bomber, and Cavity Jacket, is accessorised with crumpled newspapers in the gravity subverting campaign.

Putting the garments through the ringer in such a way feels in line with the J.L-A.L brand, which is inspired by technical innovation, revealing a high-quality construction that can withstand the toils of everyday wear.

J.L-A.L occupies a unique space in the market whilst satisfying a very real desire for technologically-engineered takes on classic menswear pieces. The captivating campaign aligns with J.L-A.L’s favouring of experimentation over established trends, looking like a provocative art piece and not your bog standard menswear campaign.

J.L-A.L has captured the heart of menswear enthusiasts with its cutting-edge, digitally-aided designs, which play with materials, cuts and shapes to create a distinct design aesthetic.
