March and April are the busiest times in fashion to produce shoots coming out in June/July. But given current circumstances glossy, mega production shoots feel out of touch and are pretty much impossible to conduct. We are entering a new era of fashion communication so how are brands adapting?

With the resolution of images no longer defining the quality of work, photographers are using Zoom, Skype and other video calling platforms to do shoots. We all saw Bella Hadid’s iconic shoot for Vogue Italia which was shot and styled by Brianna Capozzi and Haley Wollens over FaceTime.

Marc Goehring  also did a similar thing for his 032c campaign. He modelled and styled himself and was shot by Timothy Schaumburg at home while in quarantine! And brands aren’t stopping there with the evolution of their communications.

Melissa Kelly, Chief Operations Officer at M+A group said “virtual showrooms, virtual catwalk shows, campaigns starring avatars and CGI models are just some examples” that they’re working on.

So guys, what do you think of the new direction of fashion communication?
