Climate change is serious – and major fashion brands are finally realising that they must act now!
Gucci’s CEO Marco Bizzarri has issued the “CEO Carbon Neutral Challenge” – inviting other CEO’s and Director’s to join Gucci’s act against climate change.
In an open letter – Bizzarri says that “we don’t have the leisure to just reduce our impacts on climate and biodiversity over the long-term.”
We can’t wait for technology and climate-smart solutions to catch up.
Gucci published 6 guiding principles for other brands to follow to join the challenge.
The principles urge brands to develop a plan of action to reduce their Greenhouse gas emissions, implement nature-based solutions and collaborate with stakeholders to raise awareness of these solutions.
Gucci has successfully been following a strategy to reduce and offset its carbon emissions for years, it’s no surprise that Bizzari speaks confidently on his new plan of action.
So, which brands do you think will be the first to join the “CEO Carbon Neutral Challenge?
