Gravalot is an emerging menswear brand fusing contemporary London style with Afro-Caribbean culture. Haven’t heard of them? Then we recommend checking them out, and here’s why…
Bold colours, textures and patterns create distinctive pieces that set the brand apart, and help explore the Afro-Caribbean stories and culture that are at the heart of the brand.
Gravalot’s recent SS20 collection used fashion to express the four stages of manhood: The Adolescent, The Man, The Elder and The Self. The looks transition from colourful and playful, to more structured looks, and many pieces are crafted from woven material native to the Yoruba tribe.
Pretty cool, right?
And with throwaway fashion and commercialism dominating today’s scene, Gravalot wants to change that by employing environmentally and economically sustainable practices. Each piece is hand-crafted by skilled artisans fitting in with Gravalot’s ‘purpose over consumption’ philosophy.
So guys, what do you think of the Afro-Contemporary menswear label?
