Last Tuesday, American rapper GoldLink took to Instagram to post an unexpected “tribute” saying the late Mac Miller has “ripped off” his 2015 ‘The Divine Feminine’ mixtape.
In a statement, GoldLink mentioned that “they weren’t always on the best of terms” and accused Miller of copying his music!
GoldLink previously accompanied Miller on his GO:OD AM tour and despite his comments GoldLink still says he appreciates everything Mac Miller did for him.
Anderson Paak, a close friend of Miller called out GoldLink in a now-deleted post, referring to his words as “disrespectful”, “jealous” and “narcissistic”.
The singer also echoed fan’s feelings over the “tastelessness” of GoldLink’s post after Miller’s passing.
“What’s the point of bringing this up after his passing and disrespecting his name?”
Goldlink kept his post live on Instagram but disabled the comments.
While he stayed quiet for a few days, Goldlink claims the statement “was not about stealing” and he “never used the word ‘copy,’”(…) but about his love and admiration for Mac Miller.
So guys, what do you think about GoldLink’s statements?
