Friday NEWSRUSH Featuring The Launch of Savage X Fenty Menswear
It’s CULTED with your morning NEWSRUSH for Friday 25 September.
First up, Gucci has launched the application process for the second round of its North America Changemakers Initiative. Launched last year, the initiative was created to provide scholarship programs and community funding to support grassroots organisations and support diverse youth in their education.
Similarly, Burberry has also expanded its scholarship program for underrepresented students. The program has now been expanded to support students at Parsons School of Design, Institute Français de la Mode, and Central Saint Martins.
In other news, Kendrick Lamar is heavily rumoured to be in talks with Calvin Klein about a potential collaboration. At this point, there’s been no official statement but we’ll keep you updated.
Next up, Rihanna has announced the launch of a Savage x Fenty menswear line. She’s teamed up with Christian Combs to design the new line which will be a range of loungewear and underwear. The collection will be released on 2 October.
To round off this morning’s updates, Lizzo has become the first plus-size Black woman to feature on the cover of American Vogue. She appears on the October issue and said in an Instagram post: “The first Black anything feels overdue. But our time has come.”
That’s all for this morning’s updates. It’s Sam with CULTED.
