Friday NEWSRUSH Featuring Takashi Murakami X Hello Kitty.
It’s CULTED with your Friday NEWSRUSH.
First up, Stella McCartney has launched a digital festival called Stellafest to raise funds to help end violence against women. The festival kicked off yesterday and is running until Sunday, with a lineup including Kelis and Chloe x Halle. As well as the musical performances, there is also a charity auction taking place in aid of the National Network to End Domestic Violence.
In other news, Y/Project unveiled its SS21 collection via a digital video presentation yesterday. As well as the new collection, the brand also launched its first ever sustainability line, ‘Evergreen’. Check out the new collection on the Y/Project YouTube channel.
Next up, Takashi Murakami has teased a new collab with Hello Kitty. As of yet there aren’t really any details other than this teaser post uploaded to Takashi’s Instagram but we’ll keep you posted.
And to round off today, SOPHIE debuted new music yesterday during a laser-filled live YouTube set. The set was originally supposed to be part of the online club night ‘HEAV3N’ which was set to raise money for Black trans and queer charities, but the event was sadly cancelled.
SOPHIE’s team instead streamed the performance independently on YouTube to raise money for the charities.
That’s all for today. It’s Sam with CULTED.
