It’s CULTED with your morning NEWSRUSH for Friday 2 October.

In other news, The Black In Fashion council has signed up 70 brands who’ve now pledged to raise the percentage of Black employees in executive and junior-level positions. The brand list now includes Ralph Lauren, Capri Holdings, and IMG to name a few.
Next up, Electronic Beats invited GmbH’s creative directors Benjamin Alexander Huseby and Serhat Isik onto the podcast to discuss the importance of including politics in fashion, the struggles of pushing for sustainability in a capitalist society, and more. You can stream the podcast now on Spotify.
Moving on, in an interview with the Business of Fashion, Matthew M. Williams has dropped hints about the direction he will take Givenchy. He discussed the brand’s founder, Hubert de Givenchy, Riccardo’s Tisci’s influence on the brand, as well as his reverence for the Givenchy archives. As well as this, he said: “I believe fashion needs to be a reflection of what it means to live today, to be modern and relevant.” Williams’ first show for Givenchy will take place on Sunday night.
And to round off this morning, the Rick Owens SS21 show took place last night in Paris. Stay tuned for our review coming up next.
That’s all for this morning. It’s Sam with CULTED.
