Friday NEWS RUSH Featuring McQueen Fabric Donations.
It’s CULTED with Friday’s NEWS RUSH.
First up, Alexander McQueen has announced they will be donating fabric to fashion design students. The fabric will come from the brand’s extensive archive and comes as a result of increasing pressure on the fashion industry to increase its sustainability.
Next, up the Fashion Institute of Technology has been accused of racism following a recent catwalk show. Models were sent down the runway wearing prosthetic ears, lips and bushy eyebrows. African American model Amy Lefevre refused to wear the prosthetics which she called “clearly racist” and was told by show organisers that “it was fine to feel uncomfortable for 45 seconds”.
The college has since apologised.
In other news, Prada and Fendi both unveiled their AW20 collections last night. Of course, we reviewed their shows and both are up on our grid now so go check them out if you haven’t already.
Moschino also showcased their latest collection last night. Our video rundown will be posted shortly.
That’s it for Friday’s fashion rundown.
It’s Sam with CULTED. Have a great weekend.
