It’s CULTED with your Friday morning NEWS RUSH.
First up, in a conversation with Anna Wintour for Vogue, John Galliano declared that he “will fight till the end for the freedom to create and the creative process”.
The designer also revealed that Margiela is using new technologies to develop an innovative method of showcasing fashion. He questioned “isn’t it the time to propose a new way of presenting collections and how we sell them?”
Galliano also went on to reveal that he wants to see an end to gendered fashion.
Next up, a 49-piece collection of archival Chanel has dropped on Farfetch, with items including clothes, bags and accessories.
The Chanel pieces have been listed after the formerly private collections owner, Catherine McNulty, passed away. Farfetch described Catherine as a “glamorous socialite who collected rare Chanel pieces.”
And to round off today, Balenciaga is set to open a new flagship store on London’s Bond Street.
The luxury brand has reached a deal with footwear retailer Russell and Bromley Ltd. to take over its lease on the store.
That’s all for today.
It’s Sam with CULTED. Happy Friday and have a great weekend.
