The Bristol music festival FORWARDS is back with yet another belter of a headline, in a celebration of good tunes and community, here to close off the summer with a banger.

Last week, FORWARDS took to its Instagram to tease the news, by posting pictures of its Bristol-based billboards that read “Bristol, I love you but you’re bringing me down…” and “Take these words and go FORWARDS.” Basically, Bristolians knew what was coming, and here it is, the first wave of headliners for the festival.

Taking place on August 31 till September 1 at its usual Clifton Downs spot, FORWARDS will welcome to the stage Loyle Carner and LCD Soundsystem as its headliners, on Saturday and Sunday respectively. This will mark Loyle Carner’s biggest performance in Bristol to date, and also mark the first time in 14 years that LCD Soundsystem plays in the city.

Those two aren’t the only ones to get excited about though. Other artist joining the lineup include Four Tet, Jessie Ware, Maribou State, Floating Points, Romy, Greentea Peng, Yussef Dayes, Yard Act, Baxter Dury, CMAT, Nubya Garcia, Hak Baker, MCRY, Jersey, Crazy P and much more to come.

With this new lineup, FORWARDS continues its living legacy of one of the most progressive British festivals. It isn’t only its genre-spanning music that makes this one so special, but also its social initiatives, discussions and debates, and local food and beverages that come alongside the musical programme.

Speaking on the festival, Bristolian event production company Team Love’s Co-Founder, Tom Paine, stated “FORWARDS is back for its third year, and we couldn’t be prouder. Each year it grows, evolves and delivers even more for the city of Bristol and beyond. From an international and genre-spanning music lineup to future thinking talks, initiatives and with a growing-in-popularity kids area, FORWARDS is the perfect day out for everyone.”

Make sure to grab your pre-sale tickets here from 10 a.m. on March 5, or head back on March 6 also at 10 a.m. for general sale.
