Collaborating for the second time, Ezhel and Kelvyn Colt come together for their latest track ‘End Of Time’, a direct yet poetic take on the social and political issues the world currently faces today. Turkish rapper Ezhel speaks about his personal experience and confrontations, growing up facing discrimination and racism, like so many others around the world. The pair don’t shy away from uncompromising statements, with Kelvyn’s lyrics reflecting core issues of racism in society; “Black Lives Matter / Not yet in their eyes / Strive for our freedom / How many lost lives / Carpe diem / Did u fight or flight?”
Known for his hip-hop and trap beats with a fresh lyrical style, Ezhel has quickly become one of the most talked about artists in Turkey and beyond. In 2017, his debut album Müptezhel gained recognition, merging rap and reggae, with tracks reaching over 30 million streams on Spotify. Fast forward to today, ‘End Of Time’ follows the success of the first collaboration with German born artist Kelvyn Colt for ‘Link Up’. Kelvyn’s lyrical style, touching upon modern social issues, mental health and self love, compliment Ezhel’s similarly deep musical topics, delivering a powerful track that underlines what is possible when these creative forces come together.
Accompanying the release is the music video, directed by Baris Aladag, capturing the two in various settings, and picking up on the very core atmosphere of the song. Watch the full video below.
