It’s CULTED with your 60-second FASHION BLAST.
It’s boxing day, and we have something important you need to know before you go shopping!
In Britain, we were set to spend £2.4bn on new outfits for the Christmas party season this year, but many items will be worn fewer than 3 times according to a recent survey of over 3000 UK adults.
Environmental charity Hubbub found that one in five people admit that they won’t wear the same outfit to more than one party or event.
The charity is highlighting the figures as another example of the catastrophic environmental impact of fast fashion, and the effects of throwaway culture in the fashion industry.
The charity has urged shoppers to consider second-hand clothing, borrowing items from friends and even renting outfits rather than buying new.
Sarah Divall, project co-ordinator at Hubbub, said:
“Vintage and pre-loved clothing has never been so on-trend and it’s only going to get bigger as people realise the massive environmental impact of the fashion industry.”
Are you guilty of buying Christmas clothes that you’re only gonna wear once?
