Dior has released a limited edition run of its highly popular Book Tote but it hasn’t gone down well with Chinese customers.
The new release will only be available during May and comes with the option to personalise the bag with Chinese characters.
The typeface used for the characters wasn’t created by a design firm, but was instead a stock font by Adobe and Google.
Chinese customers have labelled the font as “old-fashioned”, and have said that it feels “like a gimmick to win local consumers.”
This came as a shock to the house, who thought the bag would be a success in China.
Chinese celebs and influencers endorsed the bag to drive sales but it doesn’t seem to have worked.
Customers have said that the Chinese characters across the front of the bag make it look cheap and also like a counterfeit product.
So guys, would you cop a personalised Dior Book Tote?
