
It’s been a whirlwind week of Milanese shows and runway debuts. As we hit the dreaded ‘Blue Monday’ marker, it would be easy to close your eyes for a second to rest. Well, wake up – the drops are still dropping an the world is still moving. From glittering fashion week parties to neon rave apparel releases, here’s your definitive Monday Briefing for the coming week.
VAGABON’S ‘CARPENTER’ IS THE INDIE FIX WE NEEDED
Dubbed ‘The Saviour of Indie Rock’, Lætitia Tamko, A.K.A Vagabon, has just dropped her latest single. The single, titled ‘‘Carpenter’ and co-produced by Vampire Weekend and Haim producer Rostam, is a boundary-pushing track that confronts personal demons and limitations. “It’s about that A-HA moment,” says Tamko, “when a lesson from the past finally clicks and you want to run and tell someone who bore witness to the old you, ‘i finally get it now.’” With a hotly anticipated album on the way this year, Vagabon’s ‘Carpenter’ is here to provide your contemporary Indie fix whilst you wait.

DSQUARED2 X STEVEN KLEIN’S GLITTERING MFW PARTY
Attended by a roster of celebrities, influencers and industry leaders, Creative directors and founders of Dsquared2, Dean and Dan Caten, hosted a star-studded cocktail party at Milan Fashion Week in celebration of legendary image-maker Steven Klein’s eponymous release – the first (and only) monograph on Klein, a purveyor of hyperreal and sexually charged photography that have transfixed and shocked the world for three decades across magazines and adverts alike.

A$AP ROCKY CELEBRATES A DECADE SINCE DEBUT
In celebration of the 10 year anniversary of his double-platinum awarded, Billboard 200 topping debut album, Long.Live.A$ap, Rocky has released a reworked version of his ‘Angels Pt.2’ video. Paying homage to late A$AP Yams, the video includes previously unseen clips of a young A$AP Rocky. Taking to Twitter to announce the drop, Rocky paid tribute to his late supporters, stating: “I WANT 2 TAKE A MOMENT TO REFLECT & THINK ABOUT THE PPL I MISS & THE TIMES WE HAD. A CLOSER LOOK AT CLOT X NIKE CORTEZ
Following a teasing first look on Edison Chen, founder of CLOT, close friends of the label have dropped some fresh images of the eagerly awaited CLOT X Nike Cortez collab. Featuring branded tongues, calligraphy detailing, chunky removable boot guards and Yin-Yang toggles, the sneaker’s base layer is reminiscent of early martial arts footwear with flat, floor-gripping soles. Set to drop in Spring 2023, we can’t wait to get our hands on a pair.

K-WAY CHANNELLED CAFÉ DE LA PAIX IN MILAN
K-Way’s AW23 Milan Menswear show paid tribute to their Parisian roots, as models weaved around cafe-style chairs and marble-topped tables shipped directly from the iconic Café de la Paix. An ode to the label’s rainy-day origins, the collection featured a rainbow of layered anoraks, puffers and bombers; winter-ready ensembles finished with lashings of sustainable materials such as eco-fur leg warmers and MOLINA recycled down; plus sartorial Parisian finishes such as lightweight foulards and balancing berets. Continuing their journey into Paris Fashion Week, keep your eyes peeled for K-Way’s final destination at the IRL Café de la Paix in March.

DIOR SCORES BTS’ JIMIN AS AMBASSADOR
K-Pop superstar Jimin from cult-followed band BTS has been recruited as an official Dior Ambassador, delighting his legions of die-hard fans. Following on from industry-leading collabs with brands such as Coca Cola and Louis Vuitton, this will mark the second time that Dior has championed the K-Pop legends since Kim Jones famously designed the band’s stage outfits for their Love Yourself: Speak Yourself world tour.

1017 ALYX 9SM X END IS A NEON AFFAIR
Matthew M Williams’ newest collaboration with streetwear retailer END is giving neon rave, and we’re here for it. Dropping online on Jan 20th, the grungy, warehouse-esque eight-piece collection will include underground elements and club culture features. Releasing a set of images set in a dark, neon-lit corridor, a model debuts paint-slicked shirts, chain-linked chokers and a rave-appropriate patent bumbag.

TELFAR JOIN THE MICRO CLUB
The creators behind the famously dubbed ‘Bushwick Birkin’ are back once more – this time with a selection of skittle-shaded, pocket sized wallets. Embossed with the iconic Telfar T motif and featuring classic silver-finished zippers, the wallet offers six separate compartments and a luxurious, real-leather finish. Matching the label’s iconic OG shopping bag, this latest drop is a must-have for Telfar loyalists.

ANDRE LEON TALLEY’S ESTATE
In the latest update surrounding late fashion trailblazer Andre Leon Talley’s estate, it has been announced that the entirety of his ‘Aladdin’s cave of fashion artefacts’ will be auctioned off to support worthy causes. With proceeds to be split between small community led causes such as the Abyssinian Baptist Church in Harlem and the Mt Sinai Missionary Baptist Church in Durham, Talley’s legacy will live on within the early walls that made him into the barrier-breaking icon that he was.
