The fashion industry, like many, is slowly grinding to a halt due to COVID-19. So seeing as there won’t be any new runway shows this June, here are CULTED viewers’ favourite RUNWAY RUNDOWNs from Women’s Fashion Month for AW20.

First up, from London Fashion Week, we have Burberry with their latest offering.

Tisci explored construction and deconstruction with this collection. There are coats that were half-trench, half-puffer, while bombers and hoodies were stitched to the back of other garments. The classic Burberry check was also reimagined in a broad variety of designs.

Our fifth most popular RUNWAY RUNDOWN from last Fashion Month is #GucciTheRitual.

The looks that followed created a fashion timeline, from Marie Antoinette style dresses to 70s tailoring. There was a distinct lack of Gucci branding, less logo belts, tights and bags compared to past seasons.

Next up, from Paris Fashion Week we have the Celine show. For this one we headed over to the Eiffel Tower!

The devil works hard but Hedi Slimane works harder. In true Slimane style every look was wardrobe ready. The huge collection had a 70s rockstar feel, with looks accessorised with John Lennon-eque sunglasses

For our third most watched RUNWAY RUNDOWN we went behind the scenes at Bosideng’s show at London Fashion Week.

Bosideng continually innovates fabric, technology, and design. We saw down jackets worn as backpacks, and lightweight jackets doubled as dresses. Warmth and utility but make it lit.

At number 2 we have Balenciaga’s spectacular AW20 show.

Last season he transported us to the European Parliament. This time around it was a dramatic comment on the changing climate. Rows of seats were plunged underwater, while models splashed through in Balenciaga rain boots. The ceiling saw changing visuals of thunderstorms, churning water, blazing fires and a solar eclipse.

And finally our most watched RUNWAY RUNDOWN from AW20 Women’s Fashion Month was Moncler’s Genius collection voiced by yours truly.

First up we have Richard Quinn with a ‘2001 Space Odyssey’ themed incubator. One room had Moncler spacemen walking across walls, while the other room showed models giving dogs haircuts. The collection was exquisite. Quinn reimagined the classic Moncler jacket and created elegant puffer gowns.

We hope you enjoyed this recap and it satisfied your runway cravings for the time being.
