I’m looking at quite a few items at the moment as it’s time to refresh my winter wardrobe. It’s the same story every year: as soon as it starts getting noticeably colder, I feel like I don’t have any winter clothes to wear. Thanks to my two completely different winter and summer personalities, my wardrobe has no smooth transition. I suddenly go from my chilled surfer-vibe skater jeans and Stüssy t-shirts, to dark, smart and utilitarian. The items I’ve listed reflect the wardrobe I am working on right now, comfortable and warm, but sharp and mostly black, because why not.

Looking for a casual jacket that actually keeps you warm is tough in the winter, well one that isn’t a puffer anyway. My top items for this week are fairly practical, keeping me warm and comfortable, because it’s not true what they say, fashion doesn’t have to be pain. I don’t normally like to wear scarves but i’ll certainly make an exception for this Daily Paper logo one- and for the price that won’t make me resort to eating beans on toast for the rest of the month. The Martine Rose bag is a nice way to jazz up the whole outfit too. All in all, I should really be saving for Christmas presents right now but my wishlist is telling me otherwise. Sorry to anyone that doesn’t receive a gift this year, I decided to treat myself instead.

I’ve recently moved into a new flat and currently my desk is looking a bit bare, and frankly the whole flat is void of any art – so what better way to kick off my art collection than with the new Kieth Haring be@rbrick. This morning i stepped outside it and it was surprisingly FREEZING, so it’s now more imperative than ever that i buy a winter jacket. After shopping around, i settled on the brown Axel Arigato puffer for a REASONABLE price. Paired with the Aimé Leon Dore NB 550’s (seriously, not a want, but an imperative need) and a classic Ami Paris crewneck and we’re good to go this winter.

Welcome to the list of things I feel like I’ve been umming and ahhing about for a while now, but now the colder weather has meant they’ve moved from their respective websites into my baskets. Obsessed with the Acne scarves, and how they’re a simple way to elevate a relatively plain outfit whilst keeping you cozy, and have been searching for a sturdy Coach-pillow-tabi-inspired bag for a while now that won’t break the bank. This option from & Other Stories fits the bill in terms of colour, but I might continue looking for a more pillowy option before committing. The others may be destined for a fantasy Christmas list.

For me, winter is the time to relish in the technical side of fashion; the clothes that can keep you warm and dry through the coldest and wettest time of year. I’ve got my eye on a few functional items like a warm Rab jacket and some Gore-Tex Hokas, as well as a couple of pieces to elevate my winter wardrobe from the vintage sweatshirts and hoodies I’ve been wearing for ages. I often wear dark colours in winter so this time I want to switch it up and go for things that aren’t just black.
