In case you missed the internet’s latest obsession, Balenciaga X adidas just released their collaborative campaign featuring everyone’s favourite supermodel, Bella Hadid. On Thursday this week, CULTED posted a clip of the promotion over on our TikTok which popped off, gaining almost a million views in less than 24 hours. It’s clear our collective infatuation with anything Bella-related is as strong as ever. Here’s how CULTED’s community reacted to the drop.
Since first catching our eyes on the Balenciaga SS23 runway back in September, we’ve all been eagerly awaiting the Balenciaga x adidas collection’s release. Well this Thursday the campaign imagery finally dropped, featuring an array of famous faces who each took to the bustling skyscrapers of Manhattan to showcase the collaboration. Bella Hadid, having recovered from walking for what seemed like every show this last fashion month, appeared draped across an office desk and drowning in an ultra-oversized Balenciaga x adidas football shirt.
The campaign plays on juxtaposing smart and street styles by placing Bella in a baggy set of Balenciaga x adidas shirt and joggers within the professional setting of an uptown office building, sipping from a straw and swinging her stiletto clad feet. As per, Bella’s presence alone was all it took to break the internet, with TikTok users commenting under CULTED’s post “Get it girl⚡️” (@c0cne) and “Literal perfection” (@dylanpaul33), despite the fact that she’s not doing particularly much in the footage.
Even Bella’s casual sipping on her water bottle threw fans into a frenzy, with @happy.obj asking “How is she only drinking a damn water and she looks so cool n fancy!?” She literally does the least and still manages to out-do us.
User @ethereal_c commented on the clip, claiming that “this fit literally looks good just because of her.” This claim has come about since last September, when Coperni grew to global status by simply spraying a white dress onto Bella Hadid as part of their show, ensuing accusations that it wasn’t the dress people were obsessed with, it was Bella. However, whilst it’s true brands seem to have caught onto the fact that Bella’s presence has the tendency to take a look from 0 to 100, the Balenciaga x adidas collection is iconic on its own.
The main takeaway from the Balenciaga x adidas campaign seems to be that Bella doesn’t know how a water bottle works. As @thatfrenchboi states in reference to Bella’s incessant slurping, “babe I think the bottle’s empty…😖💧” and @chouerrysroachforlife agrees, saying “Miss girl😅if you don’t refill that bottle😤….”
