Culted Community Talks: The return of Skinny Jeans

In fashion, few things are as divisive as skinny jeans, with the figure-hugging silhouette causing a fall-out in the stylish set. And while we’re not here to tell anyone what they should or shouldn’t wear, we did spot a fair few drainpipe-looking and, dare we say, skinny jeans on the Fall/Winter 2024 runways.

There was Aaron Esh’s Kate Moss for Top Shop-inspired grey jeans, which juxtaposed with delicate couture-like drapery; Miu Miu’s tight and cropped Canadian tuxedo; and even baggy-silhouette-loving Balenciaga got in on the action, too.

When we reported on the return of skinny jeans to you guys on Instagram, the skin-tight silhouette split opinion, with some saying they never left, others embracing it, and a lot of you flat-out refusing to accept the comeback of skin-clinging denim.

@hakudaan made his feelings known with a short but sweet “No,” a sentiment that was echoed and repeated across the comments section. We can only ask: What have skinny jeans done to you?

@Babyvversace was firmly on the for skinnies, sharing her love for them in the Culted comments section. “I love my skinny jeans I never stopped wearing them.” @mr_fwpt added, “I REPEAT – IT NEVER WENT SWAY.”

And just as people were arguing for and against, @eilidheyelid got deep with it. “Just wear what you want. Things will constantly come and go and come and go.” To be honest, we don’t disagree.

Whether you’re for, against, or couldn’t care less about skinny jeans, our recent post showed that they remain a divisive trouser for our audience. What do you reckon? Are they coming back?
