Coronavirus Merch: Is It Uplifting Or Insensitive?

Music by: Simon Sizer – Aethra.

It’s CULTED with your 60-second FASHION BLAST.

With the war against coronavirus still raging on, we’re seeing many independent designers and celebs dropping merch relating to the pandemic. Stars, like Jared Leto and Jane Fonda, have released their own lines of corona-related clothing, with 100% of the profits going to charity.

But there’s a big question mark over whether merch is a great way to raise money for charities tackling the virus, or if these items are purely insensitive. And people aren’t just making pandemic-themed clothing to raise money for charity.

Many young, independent designers are creating clothes sporting encouraging messages or simply to make a statement. After all, fashion is one of the best ways to express yourself, even if we are all stuck inside!

On the other end of the spectrum, we have designers who are creating comedy shirts, like the ‘Coronavirus World Tour’ shirt by Arrogant Bastard.

Is this a great way to make light of such a dark and troubling time, or is it just ignorant given the thousands who have died?

We want to know your thoughts so let us know in the comments below.
