The Chanel Pre-Fall 2020 show took place yesterday, in Paris at the Grand Palais.

Virgienie Viard’s first Métiers d’Art show venue was an iconic recreation of Coco Chanel’s apartment.

The show opened with models walking down the famous mirrored staircase, wearing gold-belted black coat dresses.

The colour palette was kept simple with sunset gradients and tones of black, white and gold, elevated with metallic, feather and pearl embellishments.

Chanel’s signature designs were presented with a daring twist.

Gigi Hadid walked the runway in a sparkling tweed skirt-suit – wearing nothing underneath other than layered pearl necklaces.

The collection was described as “sexier than Lagerfeld’s later years”.

Inspirations from all decades were seen on the runway, with Viard presenting tie-dye silk t-shirts, chokers and navel chain belts.

Even a mini-bag made into on the runway,  an indication that Viard is keeping up with current trends.

Fashion journalist Pam Boy told CULTED “It was one of those beautiful tributes to Coco Chanel that keeps the house alive”.

So guys, what did you think of the collection?
