As the world goes into lockdown, more and more celebrities are taking to social media to offer support. Stars like Cardi B, Lil Nas X and Jeffree Star are helping fans who are struggling financially during the coronavirus pandemic. And many others are taking to Twitter and Instagram to upload supportive messages. But not all celeb messages have gone down well.
In a now deleted Instagram post, Doutzen Kroes shared her thoughts on the situation. In the bizarre video, the model thanked coronavirus for everything it had done and said it was a tribute to silence and nature. Unsurprisingly her message didn’t go down well and the comment section was flooded with fans, friends and fellow celebs branding the video as “disgusting” and “hurtful”.
Doutzen isn’t the only figure to be called out. Madonna posted a video to Instagram whilst sitting in a bathtub filled with rose petals. As relaxing piano music played, the naked singer said the virus is: “the great equalizer and what’s terrible about it is what’s great about it.” If that wasn’t bad enough, in the same post she uploaded nude pics with her nipples covered by flower petals. Maybe not the right time to be posting nudes…
