Can You Really Dress Good To Feel Good.

Thanks to COVID-19, this year has been quite unlike any other and the stresses of the so-called coronacoaster have been huge. But what if there was a simple way for us all to feel that much better? And what if the answer laid in our wardrobes?
Well, psychologically, putting on the perfect fit could be the key to feeling great again.The technical term for this is enclothed cognition and psychologists from around the world have studied this for years.
University lecturer and consultant Professor Carolyn Mair says that the clothes we wear can shift how we think and feel dramatically, as well as influence how others see us. She says that feeling well-dressed could make us feel “greater sociability, power and worth” with clothes potentially giving us a “new identity and mood” altogether.
Who knew that the colour of a dress, the cut of a trouser, or that new pair of shoes we didn’t need but couldn’t resist, could alter our feelings so much?
The coronavirus is sadly far from over, but at this time when everyone wants just a bit of escapism, finding joy in what we wear could be the answer. So yes, it’s really true what they say: dress good, feel good.
