Burberry has announced plans for their spring 2021 show, and you’re invited!
Merging physical and digital, the show will be taking place outdoors in the UK, but only the models and the team will be physically present. For the rest of us, the show will only be available to view digitally.
Speaking on the concept of the show, Riccardo Tisci told WWD his inspiration was rooted from “the purity and simplicity of being at one with nature”, but also the importance of bringing back Burberry’s heritage as Tisci speaks of their founder Thomas Burberry and his “close affinity with nature and the elements”.
Commenting on the changes the industry is undergoing, Tisci says “I do not believe that fashion weeks are to be stopped, they just need to be reimagined for the world we live in now. Ultimately, to me, it will always be important to keep a physicality to fashion”.
The show will be taking place on September 17th, and as the first big brand to announce a fashion week date, we are definitely on the edge of our seats.
