No matter where you are in the world – whether it’s pouring with rain or sweltering with sun – we always spend our Wednesday afternoons coming up with the best ways for you to spend the coming week, come rain or shine. Whether you take shelter in Prada’s Selfridges pop-up in London, or hit up the Mediterranean for Porsche’s annual Porsche SCOPE festival, here’s some of the best events, pop ups, parties, and exhibitions for getting out the house this week.

Prada En Plein Air pops up at The Selfridges Corner Shop 

Prada has opened its Prada En Plein Air Corner Shop pop-up at Selfridges. Inspired by the tranquillity of an English outdoor setting, the space invites shoppers to enjoy a brief moment of escapism. Archetypal floral patterns adorn men’s and womenswear pieces, using fabrics and techniques inherent to Prada’s history. Accompanying the clothing collection was a selection of Re-nylon bags, which referenced those photographed by Albert Watson in the Prada A Milano book. 

Across both its men’s and women’s ready-to-wear offerings, Prada En Plein Air prioritises light materials and floral patterns, as well as an accompanying tailoring and denim offering. Women’s footwear pieces include sandals, including a rubber cage style available in a range of colourways, while the men’s footwear selection includes loafers, cage sandals, and sneakers in a selection of seasonal hues.

A-POC ABLE ISSEY MIYAKE finally arrives in London

A-POC ABLE ISSEY MIYAKE – a brand derived from Issey Miyake’s 1998 creation, A-POC which sets out to evolve and develop new forms of design over time – is finally going to be available in the UK this week. Whilst the brand has previously only be shoppable in Japan, Paris, and Milan, designer Yoshiyuki Miyamae said “It is a pleasure to introduce our work at A-POC ABLE ISSEY MIYAKE to everyone.””, revealing that it will finally be arriving in the UK on the 26th April, and the United States from May 1st. 

Arriving at the new London store on April 26th is selection of A-POC ABLE ISSEY MIYAKE are pieces from the TYPE-VI Sohei Nishino project, which took inspiration from Japanese photographer Sohei Nishino who’s known for his inspiration in travel and experience. Two of his works as part of a Diorama Map series are recreated using jacquard weaving techniques. Find the limited edition pieces from the TYPE-VI Sohei Nishino project exclusively available to find in ISSEY MIYAKE’s London 10 Brook store, arriving in store on the 26th April.

Paloma Wool pops up in Los Angeles

Paloma Wool, the youthful, Barcelona-born brand known for its luxurious woollen knits and elevated staple pieces and jewellery, is popping up in Los Angeles this April for a lengthy couple of weeks. Spotlighting the brand’s SS24 collection, Paloma Wool arrives at the sunny streets of LA – Melrose Avenue to be precise – this Thursday, unveiling a space designed by furniture and set designer Sati Leonne Faulks

From timeless pieces tailored to elevating your capsule wardrobe to seasonal favourites all produced with natural, local fabrics, Paloma Wool’s pop-up will be sure to garner a queue, so make sure you hit Melrose Ave up while you can from April 11th – 28th.

Crepe City is finally returning to London, revealing the finalised date for the last leg of its UK Tour as June 2nd. Celebrating its 15th Anniversary, Crepe City will be hitting up Boxpark in Wembley this summer for its regular offering of Europe’s largest sneaker and lifestyle festival. Hosting some of the most anticipated and exclusive opportunities in the sneaker-sphere, the event will see live DJs and music performances amidst a range of the most sought-after sneakers you did (and didn’t) know you needed. Make sure to keep Crepe City’s London leg on your radar for this coming June.

Lanvin Lab begins its travels through China

Lanvin Lab’s second chapter is taking a trip around China, unveiling a new cross-disciplinary creative project in partnership with contemporary artist Erwin Wurum. Following on from Lanvin Lab’s first project which celebrated the relationship between fashion and music with Grammy-winning artist Future, this new chapter unveils a large-scale, sculptural artwork, created by artist Erwin Wurm, which will travel across China. Titled “Desire,” the sculpture is a surreal depiction of the symbolisation of “self-expression.” 

If you’re based in China or hitting the country up any time soon, keep an eye out for Lanvin Lab’s “Desire,” as it’ll be able to view at various locations across the six mainland cities over the next five months. Follow its journey by watching the locations around Lanvin boutiques, from Beijing to Shanghai to Nanjing to Chengdu to Shenzhen to Shenyang, finishing at the Fosun Foundation in Shanghai, where Wurm will open a major solo exhibition in June. 

Hennessy launches “THE SOUTH LONDON RENAISSANCE 2024”

Hennessy, the world’s leading cognac brand known for its rich history in music culture and events is leading the South London Renaissance, with South East London’s newest live music venue, The Queen of the South, and cultural platform Cloud X. The month-long celebration of music and nights out, featuring London’s best underground talent, kicked off last Friday and carries on every Friday for the next three weeks.

Inviting South London rap collective House of Pharaohs to headline this week, the event boasts both cult-followed headliners and guests, given last week’s event saw the likes of Kairo Keyz, Novelist, NSG’s Mojo, Tweeko, and more attend. Porsche SCOPES takes a trip to Marseille

Porsche‘s global festival, Porsche SCOPES is heading to Marseille this April for its 9th annual edition. The festival will see 40 artists united across diverse fields, in promotion of the Porsche SCOPES global platform which sets out to provide opportunities for groundbreaking local creators and meaningful content. Previously hosted in Berlin, Warsaw, Tokyo, Stockholm, and more, the festival is hitting up the vibrant and cultural backdrop of the Mediterranean, taking place at Ateliers Jeanne Barret former industrial building in Marseille’s Bougainville neighbourhood. 

The festival has only teased the first half of its lineup, including musicians, DJs, vocalists, restaurateurs, textile artists, and even one artist who will put on a light show, so stay posted for the further lineup which will drop soon. The festival offers free admission, in line with Porsche SCOPES inclusivity and cultural accessibility, and is hosted on the 26th – 18th April.

SOLDIER reveals the dates of his first solo show

Lagos-born artist, SOLDIER just revealed the dates of his first ever solo show, opening this April 18th in London. Finally, fans of SOLDIER’s artworks will be able to view previously unseen pieces in person at the Incubator gallery as part of an exhibition entitled “When The Saints Go Marching.” Drawing on his Nigerian roots, as well as his personal lived experiences, the collection of artworks featuring depictions of family members, famous athletes, and visual stimuli that guided SOLDIER to where he is today. 

Characterised by the familiar, empowering, cultural, notorious, and local motifs that have been dotted throughout his and his family’s lives, SOLDIER’s first solo show is set to be a must visit event for fans of the artist or art in general. Make sure to hit up the Incubator between April 18th-20th to view SOLDIER’s previously unseen exhibition.

eBay is hosting a wardrobe experience like no other next week with its “Nothing to Wearhouse” event, a consultation and event on switching out your “worn-once” items, hosted by the brand’s Pre-Loved Style Director Amy Bannerman at The Curve Club in Shoreditch. With an ethos against single-use clothing, working towards building you a wardrobe full of pieces you love and want to wear everyday, eBay’s “Nothing to Wearhouse” event invites guests to swap items for their wardrobe they don’t tend to wear for pre-loved ones they know they will.

Whilst the interactive fashion event’s invite only, it comes as eBay announced this week that its dropped fashion fees to buy and list clothes on the marketplace, in an effort to guide you further into your pre-loved fashion journey. Armani Exchange – Armani’s essential, modern and inclusive apparel offering – is hosting the final event in its latest event series: the Armani Exchange 2024 Global Labs. So far having been hosted in Miami, Rome, and Milan, the Labs are known to invite global DJs including Fleur Shore and Nala perform, hosting all-night parties for fans of the brand to enjoy. In celebration of music, culture, and Armani Exchange’s community spirit, this week’s final event as part of the 2024 Global Labs series sees Emerald and Daria Kolosova take the stage.
