The online artist and designer collective Creatives 4 Systemic Change and APOC Store are teaming up to host a fundraiser to support the Asian community, as well as the Black and trans community.
To run this fundraiser, APOC’s designers and artists, as well as other creatives, will donate one piece for an online raffle. The raffle ticket costs £10, favouring multiple small donations to raise funds rather than having one person outbid everyone. This ensures that everyone has a fair chance of winning an item. Each participant will also receive a thank you e-zine for their donation.
APOC Store and C4SC have rounded up over 50 designers and artists to donate one of their pieces, including Charlotte Knowles, Kiko Kostadinov, Chet Lo, Conner Ives, Rory Parnell Mooney and many more. From menswear and womenswear to art and homeware, there is a wide array of prized items to win from.
The volunteer-led event will donate all its proceeds to three different beneficiaries; the Awaj Foundation, an organization helping underpaid garment workers in Asia, Hackney Chinese Community Services, an initiative to help local Chinese residents and support the welfare of the community. The proceeds will also go towards two beneficiaries from last year; Red Canary Song, a US-based coalition dedicated to supporting massage workers, For the Gowrls, a fundraising organization which raises money for the Black and trans communities, and Home by Ronan McKenzie, a multifunctional creative space dedicated to uplift Black female-identifying artists.
The fundraising event will take place from June 20 till June 27. Make sure to check out APOC Store and C4SC to enter the raffle.
