It’s awards season. From London’s BAFTA and Brits red carpets back in February, to the recent glamour of the Critic’s Choice and then the Oscars across the pond, we’ve seen a lot of hits (and some misses) for celebrity red carpet looks in the past few weeks. Most recently though, the Grammy’s took to Las Vegas and we were treated to another round of new season sightings. From Doja clutching what is fast becoming the new it-bag, to Justin Bieber’s oversized suit, there’s much to be discussed. Let’s get into it.
BTS
As brand ambassadors, it makes sense that BTS were all in custom Louis Vuitton. Gracing the red carpet in suits that were blues, whites and browns in hue, we saw the boyband complete their looks with LV sneakers and loafers, as well as a cluster of jewelled brooches. Tres chic.
DOJA CAT
One of our favourite looks from the night, Doja graced the carpet in a cool-toned, corseted and bejewelled Versace gown. What brought the whole look together though, was the Coperni x Heven glass-blown bag, complete with devil horns, that debuted on the AW22 runways of Paris last month.
BILLIE EILISH
After coming under scrutiny from online critics on TikTok for her all-black Gucci Oscars look (which she then duetted and reclaimed), Billie doubled down on darkness for the Grammys. Wearing a swathing Rick Owens coat dress from the designer’s AW21 collection, she accessorised with chunky black boots à la Balenciaga or Ye, and micro sunglasses. So good.
JUSTIN BIEBER
Heading up the Balenciaga hype was Justin Bieber, who’s oversized blazer look at last night’s event has already been memed and TikTok-ed the world over. Coupled with a pink beanie and a healthy dose of PDA, Bieber’s look has drawn comparisons to wearing your Dad’s suit online. The designer responsible for the oversized silhouette? Demna, of course. We’re here for it.
DUA LIPA & MEGAN THEE STALLION
It was a big night for Donatella VERSACE ?, who dressed Dua, Doja and Megan for the Grammy’s and even made an onstage appearance. When presenting the award for best new artist, Diet Prada was quick to point out Dua and Meg’s recreation of the iconic faux stand-off between Whitney and Mariah over 2 decades earlier. Whilst the latter tore off their ‘matching’ Vera Wang long trains to reveal different skirts, Donatella did the honours for Dua and Meg, both in different iterations of black Versace.
