Have you ever come across suspiciously cheap luxury products on Amazon? Well, the company is in the process of tackling counterfeit brands once again, and this time they’re teaming up with Valentino in a joint lawsuit against New-York based company Kaitlyn Pan Group.

The company is being accused of selling fake versions of the signature Garavani Rockstud heels for $100, which is “in violation of Amazon’s policies and Valentino’s intellectual property rights”.

This is certainly not the first time Amazon has faced counterfeit issues, with fake Hermés bracelets and fake Louis Vuitton belts circulating on the website in the past.

But Amazon itself hasn’t always been on the right side of the accusations. LVMH president Bernard Arnault turned down a partnership with Amazon saying “they use their database to connect customers to sellers and they take a percentage which leads them… to sell counterfeit products”. And other luxury brands have also turned down an Amazon collab, citing counterfeit products as one of the main obstacles.

So, do you think Amazon will ever tackle counterfeit brands on their mega platform?
